illbruck Duo Membrane HD
Tremco illbruck is launching illbruck Duo Membrane HD window and facade membrane, an especially robust and durable sealing membrane.The breathable membrane reacts to different vapor pressures based on its moisture variability and thus ensures dry window connection joints 365 days a year, in all temperature and humidity conditions. illbruck Duo Membrane HD can even be exposed to weathering for up to nine months.
This membrane, which is part of the successful Tremco illbruck family of premium membrane products, was developed with special focus on tensile strength and UV resistances.
In cold weather periods, the moisture escapes out of the transition joints because the joint is tighter on the inside than the outside- structurally correct and as required by the current regulations.
On days when the temperature of the facade is higher than the indoor temperature, this may lead to the opposite diffusion current. With a conventional internal EPDM membrane the condensation is trapped in internal seal.
In order that the joint can dry out from the inside (not yet covered by the regulations), Tremco illbruck has developed illbruck Duo membrane HD.
The product meets the legal assembly instructions for a seal that is tighter on the inside than the outside, and also responds to the reverse diffusion current in a structural component.
Tear-resistant and UV stable - even during breaks in construction
illbruck Duo Membrane HD is used to seal the windows and facade connection joints. Because of its variable vapor diffusion value, it is also an option for indoor and outdoor use. Firstly, it reduces the risk of defects and secondly, it provides excellent drying potential and protects transition joints and adjacent material permanently against moisture and mould.
The membrane, made of polyethylene co-polymer foil with spun bond fabric is especially tear-resistant and UV stable - it can even be exposed to weathering for up to nine months. This means that any delays in construction are easily bridged, until the outside of the facade is installed.
The illbruck Duo Membrane is not visible behind open joints due to its black colour.
illbruck Duo Membrane HD meets the recommendations of the current quality assurance regulations for windows and doors. illbruck Duo Membrane (for the inside and outside sealant) has been certified as the first and only one window sealing membrane by the RAL quality assurance association for windows and doors (FDKS), in Germany. The quality assurance association had already certified illbruck window foam+ for the insulation level.
Thus this system, which ensures extraordinary drying and excellent thermal insulation, is the first joint sealant system to be certified by the RAL quality assurance association.
