When it's safer, it's better
September 13, 2011 - Being green is more than just a constituent part of our strategy and a requirement for improved working conditions - it is a concept we live. Creating a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and carrying out processes in a safe manner are an integral part of the corporate values we have established.
We strive to place importance on occupational security, health and safety for our employees. Therefore we have decided to go a step further than the safety regulations specified by law in ISO 9001 and 14001. We plan to have all our plants certified voluntarily in accordance with OHSAS 18001. The relevant audits will be repeated every year.
OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System) 18001 forms the basis for the occupational health and safety management system within the company. The goal is to identify workplace risks to the extent possible and implement the necessary safety measures. Where hazardous substances are handled, for example, protective goggles and gloves may be required.
Our plant in Dijon, France has already been certified in accordance with OHSAS 18001 since May and the plant in Bodenwöhr, Germany since July. The certification in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001 for both plants has also been renewed. Our plants in Arkel, The Netherlands and Wigan, United Kingdom are also both certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001.
